As a Justice of the Peace in the state of Western Australia, I am called upon by members of the public to witness documents for use in court, for wills, statutory declarations and for certifying copies of documents.
I believe we all have something to give back into the community, to assist others in some way, something bigger than ourselves. I’m often asked why I became a JP- it certainly wasn’t a wake up and decide “I’ll become a JP today”, but rather a process that evolved through studying and practicing minimalism and simplicity, discarding what wasn’t important in my life and making room for what was. Once I was no longer caring or searching for “stuff” I discovered I had something valuable, and it became something I felt compelled to share. This is only a small part of my Life of Simple Luxury journey, but for me, one of the most important.
I encourage anyone thinking about becoming a Justice of the Peace to fill in the form and go for it.
